Two Tuesdays ago, I had a church television recording to attend at which food is provided, but since I couldn't be sure I could get down whatever was being served, I stopped at one of two dining options on my way to the church. At the time Taco Bell didn't top the list; so, I chose Fazoli's. This was actually very odd for me because I hadn't eaten there in at least four years as the last time I ate there for a work party I had gotten sick.
I think I'd rather start with the positives about this dining experience. . .the soy sauce packets were pre-marked for easy removal of a corner. And as we all know, soy sauce can be very messy. The cut to help the corner tear smoothly eliminated the mess. The spring rolls, were nice and hot, a hint of ginger flavor (which today did nothing for the not-just-morning-morning-sickness) and appeared to be without mushrooms, which always makes the two of us happy.
This is a report on three trips to the newest Aldi in town. I have enjoyed shopping at Aldi and enjoy trying new items. I have spoken with some people who think that Aldi is a horrible idea. They don't want to bring their own bags and do not realize they are nice, thick, strong bags. I also hear complaints that the items are not brand-named. These are obviously people who have been fooled by marketing. Mind you, I don't complain about the concept of marketing. After all, that's how my husband makes a living. But I have found items such as Pine Sol, Colgate, Pringles, Anchor, and the same names I see on produce at Costco. I give these people the benefit of the doubt and call it an oversight.
We visited this recently opened restaurant attached to the Altamonte Springs Mall on recommendation of our good friends, The Wooleys. We enjoy having friends who think of us every time they eat out. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. The tables built in the immediate bar area where in a circle and had very good acoustics. The staff was polite and food was delivered speedily.
I fear this will be the most negative post I will ever write. I am sorry for this due to Sweet Tomatoes being my grandmother's favorite restaurant when she is in town. I went to lunch with my parents and grandmother one day to take some photos and to write a post about this giant salad bar because it is all Mawmaw talks about when she goes home to Baton Rouge. I will say that unless she or Mom or Dad ever want to go back, I'm keeping my distance.
