The Geometry of Pasta even got on the New York Times' radar in December. Besides being a truly beautiful and fun book to look at with its black and white renditions of the varieties of pasta you can and sometimes can't find at your local grocery store, it's filled with historical explanations like where the pasta got its name and when or how it was invented.
Possibly my favorite non-chocolate dessert recipes is Sauteed Bananas from Moosewood Restaurant Cooks at Home. I highly recommend the recipe. Once when I served it to a guest, he looked at Paul and said "Do you eat like this all the time?" Paul said "Yep, pretty much."
Yesterday, National Public Radio released its list of the 10 best cookbooks of the summer season. Way down at the bottom is a photograph and quick review of a vegetarian book that makes its focus on enjoying the foods that are out there instead of having "mock" and "faux" meat-meal replacements. Have a look and taste some of the recipes at NPR.org.
