Peanut Gallery

Here's a few fun comments to share that are in no particular order and have no other purpose, but to make you smile as they did us.

Paul had a birthday in July, and our dear friend, Garrett Nudd, still provided him with a birthday present even though he's about to lose his room to Baby Rabbit. The card and gift were perfect as Paul's most favorite food in the world is Peanut Butter (well, maybe on par with bananas). The card (See photo.)said "Happy Birthday from the Peanut Gallery."

Our anniversary passed yesterday. We didn't even celebrate with dinner. After our long weekend at the beach (stories and pictures to follow), we were lucky to make it home from work and make a couple sandwiches Monday night. Thanks for all the emails we've received in honor of our day.

Speaking of which, Happy Anniversary to Garalynne and Trevor who share our wedding date almost to the very hour. We still miss those smoothie and popcorn nights!

Two days in a row, I lost two very special coworkers. One was an EMT, and a member of the "Eat Like a T-Rex" Team, who as much as they made fun of me were also the same people who bragged about me behind my back. I hope Dan loves teaching. I know he'll be good at it, but I'll miss him. Fortunately, that only leaves one T-rex for me to deal with.

The other friend was Shani, our nurse practitioner and a "pescatarian". I have fond memories of us sitting around the lunch table pouring over my Gourmet magazines. She just might be my biggest fan, cause I know she's tried a lot of my recipes--and brought some to work! I just hope she knows what a great fan I am of her. As a going away present (Shani moved north to be near family), she gave me what was left of a box of Kirkland Chocolate Soy Milk (which she stocked up on when I told her Costco quit making it). In return, I gave her some of Paul's favorite dried bananas from Trader Joe's. I hope they entertained her as she traveled. I'll miss Dan and Shani terribly, and yes, I cried. Luckily, I can blame that on hormones.
