Has it really been 9 days since I posted to this blog about our eating experiences? Worse. . .has it really been 9 days since I looked at my personal computer (work doesn't count)? I fear I am delinquent.
So let's recap where we've been and what the Baby Rabbit has been up to all this time. Firstly, we spent a long, but too fast, weekend in California with the rest of the family celebrating Paul's parents' 40th anniversary. Paul's mom is a fantastic cook, and his aunt, Marsha, has a Master's in Home Ec which tells you what kind of a cook she is. All vegetarian and all divine! However, we ate our way through the weekend. There will be photos and recommendations and reviews just as soon as Paul finishes editing all the pictures. Two giggles that stand out for the weekend (even though there were lots) was the sign over Cousin Gigi's sink that read I kiss better than I cook, (Allegedly when they remodeled the house, she asked Larry to just board up the kitchen, but they decided to keep it for when Marsha comes over.) and the morning after breakfast burritos when Gigi said "Why can't we just get together sometime and fast?"
All joking aside, we'll have some great information about our latest splurge at Trader Joe's, and the announcement from the cashier that two are being planned in Florida! (Hey, don't burst my bubble. I know Florida is a big state, but I can dream that we'll get lucky enough to have one in the Central area!) We'll talk about In-and-Out Burgers that don't have anything vegetarian on the menu, but that doesn't stop them from working with us. And we'll review a salad we bought at a premium during the long flight home. Incidentally, the photograph is from the pool area in Marsha and Stuart's subdivision. What a view; a perfect place to swim and sleep.
The biggest reason why I don't like the looks of my computer right now also has to do with the fact that I don't like the looks of most food right now. Paul says the baby gets motion sick. I can agree with that. "They" say it will all go away eventually, but I'm having a hard time believing it. What do you do when even the Tums and ice seem to have lost their effectiveness? Just keep plugging along, I guess. I'll take advantage of any slight improvement in my churning to post as much as I can in between the tough times. Thank you for your patience.
