Every Thursday morning, I sit down at my desk and spend five minutes or so searching for the week's great buys at Publix. Publix's weekly sales go from Thursday morning to Wednesday night. So, I learned to plan my weekly shopping trips accordingly. This week, I almost missed the message that said Morningstar Farms frozen vegetarian products were on sale for 50% off. I was excited and called my father as soon as he was off work to tell him to stop by Publix. (I also called my mother who is visiting my grandmother and she said she hoped my dad could find enough room in the freezer for all the products he planned to buy.)

I normally have a weekly grocery budget that I get pretty close to and am proud to accomplish. This week, I wasn't even sure I wanted or needed to grocery shop. But, this sale sent me running to Publix after my last patient to spend a whopping $37.31 on veggie meats. I was happy until I did a search for Morningstar reviews. One of them said that Trader Joe's, a favorite store of ours that does not have a branch in Florida, sales the veggie meats at half the price of grocery stores on a regular basis. I don't know if Trader's has the same selection as Publix because it has been nearly a year since I had the opportunity to visit one. So if you don't have the luxury of a Trader Joe's near by, run like a rabbit to Publix before the evening of Wednesday, April 1.

I bought the following items:

• 2 Spicy Black Bean Burgers at $1.89 each
• 1 Asian veggie patty for $1.89
• 4 Italian Herb Vegetarian Chicken Patties at $1.99 each (which I just now noticed was supposed to be the original vegetarian chicken patties)
• 1 Vegetarian Sausage Patties for $1.99
• 1 Vegetarian Buffalo Wings for $1.99
• 2 bags of Vegetarian Chicken Strips for $1.99 each
• 6 Vegetarian Bacon Strips at $1.99 each.
• 2 Grillers at $1.89 each
