Results of the Planned Menu for Last Week

Some days, even the food laughs at you.

You'll never believe this. I almost don't. . .except it happened to me. You know that planned menu list for dinners last week I did as part of my New Year's Resolution? Well, it seems that this was not the week to plan such things.

Menu for the Week

  • Monday Turkey Vegetable Fajitas-I'm afraid not. I ended up going to church, and Paul stayed home and ate a sandwich.I was so hungry when I got home, I had a bowl of cereal.
  • Tuesday Church function, free food for me, Paul will eat cereal-Still had the church function, but Paul decided to meet me at Taco Bell as we basically wouldn't have seen each other for three days if we didn't.
  • Wednesday Egg Salad Sandwiches with tomatoes and arugula-Not a chance. We had Mexican at the office for lunch, and I brought leftovers home to make fajitas. But, hey! It was free food.
  • Thursday Pasta of some variety, using spaghetti sauce already opened-Sort of on the right track. I realized my zucchini was looking worn and chose to make a sauce out of zucchini, onion, garlic, and fresh tomatoes.
  • Friday Something with sweet potatoes, either mashed or grilled, vegetables, and corn bread-Dreaming on. I had bought some new items on sale and wanted to try them in case I wanted to go back for more.

Oh well, even when it's not a success, planning is a good idea to at least not have to think about the meal the rest of the day. I think I'll almost just roll this menu over to next week. That's a time-saver, too.
