PF Chang's, namely this location, is where Paul and I had our first date. That being said, it's kinda special to us. I can even remember what we ate that night. However, we have since been educated about excellent choices at the restaurant and generally select other items. Firstly, the broccoli and tofu in a chili sauce is generally one of the preferred dishes because I am a sucker for broccoli. Unfortunately, this particular branch is not always consistent with that dish. So, we debate other options: egg noodle vegetable plate, lo mein vegetable plate, or vegetable fried rice. The eggplant is good, but a bit sweet and is best shared with a group because few people want to finish the plate off by themselves. The coconut curry is a smash hit with almost everyone. There will be variations in the amount of sauce. For example, tonight's dish was drier. But it is consistently flavorful and well prepared.
The Vegetarian/Tofu lettuce wraps are always a must and can easily go from an appetizer to a main course. Also, the crispy green beans with an incredible spicy mustard are always an appetizer at our table. These are also consistently fabulous.
Many people think PF Chang's is out of their price range. However, we have gone as a group of 5 and only spent $35, with a good deal of leftovers. The "trick" so to speak is to get only one dish per two or three people delivered with brown and white rice. After an appetizer to share, the portions are plenty. If that isn't enough, desserts are tiny and rich to fill the sweet tooth.
