We visited this recently opened restaurant attached to the Altamonte Springs Mall on recommendation of our good friends, The Wooleys. We enjoy having friends who think of us every time they eat out. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. The tables built in the immediate bar area where in a circle and had very good acoustics. The staff was polite and food was delivered speedily.
The menu has icons for vegetarian dishes. However, a few of the salads probably should have been marked because the number of options available to us seemed quite sparse. In addition, the photo of the hamburger that was in the menu did not do the veggie burger justice. Our sandwich looked better than the real burger did!
We had the sauteed spinach as an appetizer. I believe it was garnished with shredded parmesan, which was very good. Unfortunately, as is evident in the picture, the dish hadquite a bit of butter and tasted unnecessarily rich.
The main dishes were very good. We have tried a good number of Pad Thai dishes, some of which are mentioned on this blog. This was likely not the best Asian dish we have had, but that doesn't mean it was bad. The dish was well flavored and had the correct ingredients to classify it as Pad Thai (peanuts, cilantro, lime, pepper). I think we were just a bit shocked that black pepper instead of crushed or ground red pepper was used for the spicy flavor.
We paid a bit extra to replace the regular fries that came with the sandwich with sweet potato fries, but it was truly worth it. Likely, the fries were the center of our meal. It was served with a spicy ketchup that matched the sweetness in its punch. I was surprised that the sandwich did not come with mayonnaise or mustard as most burgers do. Perhaps this restaurant believed its sandwich didn't need any help. I am inclined to agree. I very much appreciated the avocados on the sandwich. The burger wasn't cooked as "well-done" as many veggie burgers so it was quite moist in the interior, which kept it from being too dry without condiments. It was a great dish.
