Wagamama is fairly new to the United States. Paul has been to the one in London. His previous experiences have been good as well. The Cambridge Wagamama located in Harvard Square has windows looking down over the street and the fight for parking places. One SUV backed up FIVE car-lengths on a one-way street in the middle of graduation weekend to acquire a recently vacated spot. There was no shortage of entertainment with the meal.
My second visit was even more superb. Normally, we try not to repeat a product, but the vegetable dumplings were so delicious before, we had to repeat them. For more variety, I started with an Apple and Lime Juice, which once you got past the color and frothiness was beyond delicious. It had a perfect mixture of sweet and sour.
Wagamama had a cold salad with grilled and marinated veggies such as zucchini, eggplant, sweet potatoes and asparagus along with the basics of mushrooms, lettuce and tomatoes. The house dressing was a well-flavored vinaigrette that did not steal the show. Paul's vegetable fried rice was just a good. His dish came with vegetarian miso soup (no non-vegetarian made) which he like more than I. However, I'm not normally a big fan of miso. Perhaps it's an acquired taste.
The meal ended without dessert, but our plates were clean otherwise. A blue ribbon goes to Wagamama who not only provides and excellent meal, but produces one twice in a row. Not all restaurants can do that.
